Concert and movie

Hold out your hand and make like you're about to pinch someone. That was how small Christina Aguilera was from our windows. But with the aid of a telescope, we can see a larger although blurry image of her.

Her voice sounds amazing though, really powerful. And her performance was bigay na bigay. She's 4 months pregnant but you couldn't tell with her hanging midriff and her saucy dance moves. I'm not exactly a Christina fan but wow kakabilib.

***

Yesterday, my sis and I saw Harry Potter at Trinoma. We went out of our way to buy tickets in the morning so that we can avoid the 45-minute queue at night (we learned our lesson the hard way when we watched Transformers)

The fifth book was my least favorite so the movie really surprised me on how good it is. It's a darker movie, very mature to be a kid's film, and it's kind of a bit...sad...not just the last part but all throughout, dunno why. But how they tackled Harry's frustrations and loneliness really brought weight to the film. Good job, movie director.

And the kids have all grown up! Awwwww, they act better too. Daniel especially. Emma overacts in a scene or two, but I love Rupert! heehee. He's just low profile, very "eh" and casual. I heard from an interview he's going to buy an ice cream truck for the cast and crew of the next film. Heehee. And he and Harry looked so much better than the last film. I think it has something to do with the hair. And just to single out a scene, boy, was the kiss with Cho Chang a long one. I expect a smack of 5 seconds or so, but that kiss carried on for quite a while.

Can't wait for the last book! Aieeeieee!!

Next movie I want to watch is Ratatoulle. It's from the creator of The Incredibles, which is my favorite Pixar movie, so I bet this one's good too.

i'm just going to state my opinion here...but I thought the HP movie was the worst. It was too short and shallow actually. The fight scenes gave you this feeling of, "Yan lang?" Harry was supposed to be so angstsy here but all he did was say, "I feel so angry all the time." That's it, kaput. And I haven't even read the book yet. Can't imagine how much more disappointed I would have been if I did. Peace. XD

My sis didn't like it too! Actually I'm now hearing that a lot of people didn't like it. It's more of a "talky" film and I did find some parts boring, but I dunno, I like it. I found it better than the first and second film. And I actually liked how Harry's angst was portrayed. It's more of quiet angst than acting out. In the book, it's actually the opposite, Harry shouts more and snaps a lot.

I still recommend reading the book though, just so you can understand the shortened and altered scenes. For me, even if it's the weakest of the bunch, it's still a fun read.

Lots of parts were cut off in the movie, but it was a lot more... bearable than the book. I barely finished the book anyway, simply because Harry was all "ANGST ANGST ANGER WHINE ANGST WHINE WHINE" and I tend to really despise books like that. :O And the part where they flew to London... it was... huh.

...I liked Luna. :d

yea, i liked Luna the best too. then ron and the twins...

before, i liked the movies but hated the books. now, i can't stand the whole franchise. ikaw lang ang kilala ko na gus2 ung movie. hehe.

i thought the Prisoner of Azkaban was a darker and more powerful movie than this one. this one's delivery just left me with an "eh."

it has its moments. the "fireworks" scene was awesome; but the fighting scenes were average? i thought they lacked dimension on how they killed off _____. etc etc.. a lot of the scenes were just flat...

so at best, i thought the director was average to averagely bad =\

Yeah, how they killed off Black was kinda forced and uneventful. And it's like that in the book too.

And yeah, I'm the only person I know that likes the movie! Everyone - my officemates, you guys, my sis' friends hate it. haha, makes me question my taste. I just really like how they portrayed Harry's isolation. Makes me sympathize with him as the hero - unlike the book where I was annoyed with his angsting.

And all of them really grew up since the last movie. It's like a childhood's end in some ways. And I like seeing transitions like that.

And I like Luna too. I think she's even better than I what I imagined in the book. And Tonks also. I always pictured her as middle aged, maybe it's her name, haha. But in the movie she looks kinda hip and gothy.

XD I liked the movie as a movie, as a book adaptation, not really. I didn't make that too clear, I guess. ^^;
My problem is the really huge gaps in the story (the house elf, iirc, played an important part in the book, and Sirius's death was... yun lang?!), but it was fine as a movie. I also agree that the way they handled Harry was well done (because if all Harry did in the movie was scream and whine as he did in the book, that would've been horrible).

I watched in Trinoma too. o.o Heh. pero kahapon lang.

christina aguilera fan ka na noh? hehe okay lang kung convert ka na haze! :D

whyy? :( i don't know if people are just being too hard on the movie probably because they've read every spic and span of the book but deear, i'd say enjoy it for what it is.

(or maybe i was the one that was too hyped to even analyze and scrutinize what should or should not have been included.)

all i cared about was being able to watch it, that's it. at nagustohan ko naman. :) i don't think lotr was told off for not being able to include this scene or that. was it?

harry's angst flowed through beautifully (yes, beautifully). ron and hermione were adorable! and believe it or not, when harry and cho kissed, the whole cinema applauded haha. i actually thought tonks would've appeared funkier and younger. (hehe, alam ko magmmukhang pedo na since matanda si lupin, but still!)

maybe because whether you like it or not it's potter mania? haha, corny ba?

and yay, les, glad u enjoyed it. and that's my complain with hermione too! parang laging may inner struggle bago malabas yung lines nya. hehe

and that's funny how the audience applauded the kiss. sa amin, may audible reaction din e, parang sigh/gasp/"yi-hee" sounds
